મંગલ મંદિર ખોલો,
દયામય !
મંગલ મંદિર ખોલો,
જીવનવન અતિ વેગે વટાવ્યું
દ્વાર ઊભો શિશુ ભોળો ;
તિમિર ગયું ને જ્યોતિ પ્રકાશ્યો,
શિશુને ઉરમાં લો, લો,
દયામય !
નામ મધુર તમ રટ્યો નિરંતર
શિશુસહ પ્રેમે બોલો ;
દિવ્ય તૃષાતુર આવ્યો બાલક,
પ્રેમ – અમીરસ ઢોળો,
દયામય !
મંગલ મંદિર ખોલો !

I heard this prayer when I wasi in School. This poem was written by Narshinrao Divetia to mourn his son’s death who died in early age. The poem is not written as artifact of words but the way emotions coming out of his heart hence it makes this poem a great poem.
